Frimax and Salaamedia upgraded vital borehole infrastructure to support clean water, health and learning in Lenasia South.
Empowering Education Through Clean Water Access
At Frimax, we believe that real community support goes far beyond the snack aisle. This past July, as part of our Nelson Mandela Day initiatives, we had the honor of partnering with Salaamedia to bring positive, lasting change to the New Generation Combined School, located in the Phumlamqashi informal settlement (Unaville, Lenasia South).
Education is the foundation of a bright future, but true learning can only happen when a school's basic human needs are met.
Building More Than a School
Access to reliable, clean water is essential for a safe and healthy learning environment. Recognising this urgent need, Frimax proudly sponsored and facilitated the complete refurbishment and upgrade of the school's water borehole.
By improving this vital infrastructure, we are helping to:
Provide Clean Water: Ensuring students and teachers have direct access to clean, reliable water every day.
Support Community Health: Reducing waterborne health risks and promoting overall hygiene within the school and surrounding area.
Foster Growth: Giving learners a stable environment where they can focus on their education, growth, and future opportunities.
Honoring Mandela’s Legacy
Mandela Day reminds us that small actions can lead to transformational change. Upgrading this borehole was our way of giving back and making every drop count for the Phumlamqashi community.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to Salaamedia for collaborating with us on this initiative, and to the warm community of Lenasia South for welcoming us into their school. We look forward to continuing our journey of building stronger, healthier communities across South Africa!
