Are chips unhealthy?
The main ingredient of chips is potato, and potatoes contain a whole range of important vitamins and nutrients. Even after processing, the chips still contain quite a significant amount of these. Chips do however, belong to the foodstuffs that have a high energy density, which is why they should be enjoyed in moderation within the framework of a balanced diet.

Do chips make you fat?
Obesity occurs when someone takes in more energy than they expend. Excess energy is stored by the body in the form of fat pads, It doesn’t matter which foodstuffs this energy comes from. Within a balanced diet and lifestyle there is no reason to ban sweet foods and snacks from one’s menu. However, snacking should not be seen as a substitute for a meal.
